No, it's not another exhaust thread. Saturday I was in the process of changing out the stock mufflers on my new GT and was surprised to learn that with NO mufflers, the sound of the exhaust was not overly loud or raspy. In fact, it sounds less loud and less raspy than some vids I've viewed of Loudmouths, etc. Here's my question for you gearheads out there: If I just go with a longer pipe with tips (no muffs), will I be doing anything to hurt torque, horsepower, engine computer, etc ? I like the sound right now, I just don't want to cause an engine/performance problem by running straight pipes. Thanks in advance!

Forget what test it was but i believe they showed a loss of 2-3hp and tq with no mufflers installed.

SLP's actually gained 2hp.

I have been running straight pipes and 4" tips for about a month. Rrobello has been running the same since January.

No problems..and great sound
