Another supercharger newbie thread

So I'm looking to enter the world of supercharging. I'm going to be putting a Saleen blower on my '07. I've been in talks with Seth from Brenspeed and we've decided to take a trip out there to have their Stage 3 kit installed. From what I've gathered, the Stage 3 is basically the max for a stock block. But I have come up with a few questions today, and with Seth gone for the weekend, I thought I'd ask you guys (and give him a break lol).

1) Can I use my C&L Racer with the Saleen? I seen they include a Steeda intake with their kit. Since I have the Steeda on the '05, I initially asked if I could swap the cars' intakes and save some money. But I'd really like to keep my C&L Racer if I can. So is that possible?

2) Since I'm going to have Brenspeed install and tune it, are gauges necessary right away? I plan on getting boost and fuel pressure, and probably AFR. But the install is just about a month away, and I have so many other projects going on before then.

3) Speaking of gauges, I know I want the go with AM Cobalt. Are there are write-ups for installation?

4) I currently have stock 3.31 gears. Will I get enough performance out of those, or should I go up with 3.73's? (I guess this one, I can see what my track times are, and go from there) When I do gears, should I also do new axles?

5) Here's the mods that I will have when the SC is installed. Anything else I really need?
C&L Racer Cold Air Intake
SCT XCal2 Programmer
Brenspeed Custom Tune
Hurst Competition Plus Shifter
Pypes Off Road H Pipe
Pypes Violators Axleback
BMR Fabrication Tubular Lower Control Arms
BMR Fabrication LCA Relocation Brackets
BMR Radiator Support/Swaybar Delete
Eibach Pro Kit
Tokico D-Specs
One-piece DS (not sure which yet)
American Muscle 17x9 Bullitts (For the track)
M&H Racemaster 325/45/17 Drag Radials

That's all I can remember right now. I'm sure I'll come up with some more later.

1) Yes. Probably need new (lower) motor mounts though.
2) No, not necessary right now but always a good idea.
3) Yes..... search around the forums- there are write ups.
4) Would suggest changing gears but do the blower and drive it first; you may be more than happy. No need to change axles, you have 31 spline units now.
5) Nothing comes to mind immediately.

So these would be overkill?

Crap. I was afraid you'd say I'd need motor mounts to use it. Wonder what they'd charge to throw those on, since they'll be working on the car anyway.

I don't recall seeing anyone break an axle in the new cars yet.... I would think they're not needed.

You can use your stock air inlet tube with the Saleen and you won't need new motor mounts. You can wait till you hit the next lottery. I did rub my Hood liner alittle.

Can always take the hood liner out. Gives more space for airflow and it actually makes your car sound louder.

Yeah, but I'd rather use my C&L racer. But, not that I think about it, I don't know if I trust that plastic tube with the additional force. Maybe I'll just have to get the ugly Saleen extreme inlet tube. I wonder if that'll work with my C&L maf & air cleaner.

When Brenspeed was contacted to do my Saleen SC tune, I had my choice of tunes

1. Stock Inlet tube with a Steeda MAF

2. Saleen tube with a Steeda MAF

I had a Tuneable Induction (CAI) from J. Demote (sic) and Brent told me he had no tune written from that intake only the Steeda.

I would go with the wideband gauge over the f/p. The wideband is most important. Seth was the main person that told me to go with the wideband over the f/p.

Cool. Thanks guys. Steeda it is, then. Guess I'll be getting a new one, 'cuz the one on the '05 is two years old. So I'll pass down my C&L to that one, and get a new Steeda from Brenspeed. And thanks for the gauge info. I'll remember that when I get there.
