Thumbs up

Ok, I was going to take my car into the shop to have them look at the hesitation problem I am having. Everyone in this thread convinced me to put my car back to stock (stock airbox and stock tune) which I did. Now I cannot, for the life of me, reporduce the hesitation.

So, as much as I hate to admit it, I think the C&L 93 octane tune is causing the problem for me. My question now is am I leaning out? What parameters on the diablo to I change to make my car run a bit more rich? Do I want to back down the global spark? Do I want to back down the timing? Do I want to do both?

Thanks!

When you were having the hesitation did you have any trouble codes, CEL or failsafes? Did you have the hesitation without the TBS?

You state your are running a C&L CAI and 93 octane Diablo tune. Are you using a C&L Predator (CL7140) or a Diablosport Predator (U7140) with a canned custom tune from Diablo's website? What revision are you using? The latest revision for the CL7140 is r22 and the latest revision for the U7140 is r28.

Or rather than guessing, why don't you take it to someone that has a dyno with wide band air fuel gauge if you think it's running lean?

Now aren't you glad you didn't take it to the dealer!! I'm sure they would have given you a hefty bill.

I'm using the Diablosport Predator with r28 and the canned C&L tune from their site. I added some more fuel at WOT since it only hesitates on me at WOT in the higher RPMs.

I agree with you though, I need to get off my lazy butt and take her to a dyno. I'm just cheap at the moment, I have to pay off the engagement ring!

PS. I am glad I didnt take it to the dealer.

Step 1: Repossess the ring and pawn it.
Step 2: Spend your new found cash dynoing your stang.

It will be much cheaper in the long run.

Hi Chris,
Don't want to be the bad new guys but I ran the Diablo C&l 93 octane canned tune for several months. While I believe it helped with the hesitation/throttle lag problem it never went away. I sold my Pedator and went with XCAL2 from Lidio @ Alternate Auto and NO MORE THROTTLE LAG. Personally, I don't believe it has anything to do with the XCAL2. I just believe Lidio has it figured out. Others will tell you the same thing.
