Alternator lightweight pulley with clutch.
Alternator lightweight pulley with clutch.
Don't know if the subject has been treated already but here's what I've done on my mustang gt :
replaced the stock alternator pulley for a lightweight stainless steel with clutch included.
The V8 seems more powerfull, at least, it takes the rpm's faster. When shifting up gears, the engine seems as well more responsive.
A little mod that cost me $100 but I think it's worth it.

Frankly, I have no idea, my mechanic took care of everything. But he should give me the invoice so I will be able to give you the item number and where to buy it
It is pretty nice, revving at 4000 rpm, shifting and the car just takes off, no matter in what gear you are.

I am a proponent of clutch pulleys but I wouldn't go so far as to make claims of the OP.
If you want a 8 grooved version I have those for sale. 6 grooved too but I can't beat the price of that website linked above.

Do you see any quicker acceleration or HP benefits for an N/A motor? What is the advantage of an 8 goove vs. a 6 groove?

There are measurable gains between shifts but is it noticeable? I doubt it. The belt last longer and will make a gas mileage difference that is noticeable. 8 groove is for SC cars wanting to run a wider and stronger belt.

Thanks for info. BTW how nuch do you want for your 6 groove? The site listed no longer has that item.

I don't know about the power gain but the car seems more fun to drive.
Plus, around 3500/4000 rpms, the car just keeps going even without accelerating. Just like on a bicycle that you would let go. I don't know how to explain that, sorry, but personally, it was worth doing the job done
Now, I have to save some money and I will probably do a tuner and change the coils, remove the cat pipes ... well, we'll see how is my bank account lol
