Alternative to Rhino Ramps and Jack Stands
I like these, becuase you can make it so you dont need a pre ramp, and you can make them higher and longer or whatever you need. I think I am going to try it. Not to save money, but for ease of use. Although storage is gonna be a female dog.
After using those Rhino Ramps I have deemed them to be pieces of crap. The rubber feet roll out and the plastic frame crack in several places. If I had a flat driveway I'd have a 3 foot lift but until then my jack and stands do well in the street.

I made a set of these for my 96 Cobra that was lowered and now use them on my 05 Vert. They work great to get the car up about 5 inches . This is enough to get the jack under to go up on jack stands. The nice thing about these is you can drive up on them without them slipping out from under the wheels. I have 2 other sets of ramps in the garage and none work better. Made mine from 2 X 10 yellow pine and these suckers must weigh in at 80 lbs.it seems. I live in the country and have a gravel driveway and they also work there if needed. I know some people will laugh when they see them but if you have ever scraped the underside of you car with traditional ramps you will like these. BTW, I have a set of Rhinoramps and I agree with Cleveland! They are crapola!

The nice thing about the Rhino ramps are that they are so light. I can pick them up with one finger. Cracks are a definite NO-NO; I'll have to keep an eye out on that one.
Here's what happened when I tried to drive my Mustang onto Rhino ramps. Yep, they did a burnout right out from under the front wheels when the car was nearly at the top of the ramps. Caused just a bit of seat cushion pinching!
I will say that with the price of lumber these days, it is cheaper to buy plastic ones vs build with SYP.
