Is it all in my Head?

Guys last wk i installed my 93 tune from Brenspeed. The thing is when i first installed it the thing acted like it wanted to take off on its own. Very aggressive. Chirped the tires going into 2nd with an auto.
Now it has seemed to calmed down. Does not seem very aggressive and the throttle response does not seem as sensetive. Is this me just getting used to it or does something happen over time?

I think you are just getting used to it. I also run Brenspeeds standard auto tune with additional tweeks. I have never known it to back off or lay down. Are you saying that if you romp on it (WOT) it won't bark the tires now in at least 2nd gear?

i believe the computer adjusts a bit after tunes are installed. a friend of mine reinstalls his tune every few months because he believes that the computer knocks back a bit.

Try reloading the tune and see if you feel the response come back.

It’s the adaptive transmission learning and making adjustments, there’s not much you can do about it. As an aside, Doug knows how to shut off that feature so that the tune stays crisp even after driving it for a while. He also makes adjustments to the shift points and torque converter schedule. With an auto, you should do yourself a favor and try one of Doug's tunes!

I agree with this totally. I have run Doug's auto trans tune with TC lockup and it was great. I am now running Brenspeeds with similar tweeks with some additions. I have all the computer stuff shut off and in fact Brent has my auto trans shifting like a manual. Like I said in an earlier post. Mine does not mellow out if I drive it easy. You need to talk to Brent about your issue and get an updated tune if required.

They are both really outstanding vendors, and you just can't go wrong with either one!

I'm guying to update my car and buy either Doug's or Brenspeed's tunes.

I don't know what would be better for a manual transmission.

I got my tune at Tillmanspeed and I reload mine every month and a half to two months just for the heck of it. I get on her hard on my 6 mile romp to and from work to keep the response crisp but when I do reload it, I can tell the difference.
