Air Filter Question
Air Filter Question
I have an '07 GT/CS 5 speed that is all stock. I do not have the cash right now to add CAI but was wondering if it worth it to add a K&N air filter for now as I have 19k miles with the original air filter, or do I replace it with a regular stock air filter. Will the K&N really give extra HP and gas mileage? Just rying to weigh out my options as money is a little tight.
Thanks

Everything I've heard is that the gains, if any, are minimal. however if you need a new replacement air filter, the K&N is a good one. On the other hand if the K&N filter is significantly more expensive than the Ford stock, Fram or other after market filters, then i'd probably buy one of those, especially if you're bucks down right now.

yup, I wouldnt worry about changing it until its needed or until you get a CAI, which is where you'll see a pretty decent gain from a simple bolt on, and the tune makes a huge difference
You can get a Fram AirHog which is a better made version of a K&N filter. If you get it from Amazon and mail in the Fram Rebate form they actually end up paying you for the filter. I purchased it for my stang and the total was like $16.00 amd Fram is offering a $20 MIR so I made $4.00 on it.
