Anyone use an AEM Dryflow conical air filter, maybe replacing their oiled-gauze cone with this? I have read many posts on various forums about the low filtering efficency of oiled-gauze (aka K&N) filters and how they don't filter as well as a paper filter. Another reported drawback to an oiled filter is the possible contamination of the MAF sensor, even if the filter is NOT over-oiled. So, here we have a non-oiled type of filter that can directly replace a cotton gauze air filter on the typical CAI kit that has paper-like filtering efficiency of 99% (reported by mfgr, I have not read any independent lab tests). Seems to me if this is true this would be a far better filter for street applications.
