I have already installed a C&L intake and Predator for a cost of 700 dollars(I could have done better, but I wanted it quickly). I plan on buying a Mak off-road x-pipe soon at a cost of $199 plus shipping. I think that will put me at or above 300 rwhp from what I have seen. I figure that should be good for high 12's on street tires, assuming I can cut off a good 60' time. Think this is a reasonable goal? I think 900 dollars to run high 12s on street tires is a great bang for the buck. If I can't do it on street tires, my friend has some MT ET streets that I can borrow

You should be able to do it without the slicks but it will take a lot of runs to get the launch right without wheel hop.

If you could accomplish that, you would be the man. I forgot which mag it was, but it took them like $2400 to do it. You would definitely prove them wrong. And shut up a lot of LS1 guys

I am going to the track this Friday, without the x-pipe for some baselines. When it gets cooler out, I am sure we will see a lot of 12 second times with minimal mods. This engine responds real well to simple cost effective mods.

MM&FF did a "6 pack" with $2,400 in mods.
From memory-
Mickey Thompson's
SCT Tune
removed HC trap
axle back exhaust
gears
UD pullies
That got them in to the high 12's. If you have $900 to spend AFTER youi already got the intake and tuner....you should be able to do it. Do gears and the Pullies first. See what you run on the stock tires.
Also, I would suggest a pair of LCA's to help your launches.
good luck.

Probably not, but....
I would make the attempt with $900.00 I would try:
1) Under Drive pullys instead of the cold air intake. Removing the carbon trap is nearly as effective.
2) Preditor tune.
3) Removing the back seat and installing carpet ( minimal cost )
4) 4:11 gears in the rear end.
This shoud give the biggest boost for around $900.00
I do not think the exhaust system will do much since the stock system h pipe and 2.5" duals is very efficient. I think changing the sound is about all they will really do...
That would be my attempt for $900.00
