4:10 gears getting installed on 6/23

I'm getting 4:10's installed in the Mustang on Thursday of this week, primarily because my 90 GT had 3:73's and it was a beast off the line, and secondarily because some folks have stated that this is a really good change.
Since it's going to cost $600+, I would really like to be sure that this indeed is a great mod to do. I want to have a car that JUMPS off the line and can break them loose at 10-20 MPH in 2nd gear when I romp on it, like I could with my old Mustang. Granted this car is completely different than the Fox's, and it may not respond exactly like the old one, but I want to unleash this car's torque potential at low speed.
Anyone with 4:10's care to comment here? Was it as drastic of a change as I am hoping for over the stock gears? Did it change the driving dynamics noticibly? I already have the Diablo tuner and they will be updating the tune to reflect the 4:10's at install time.
I'm already thinking of calling and having them install hood pins, tint the windows, add an exhaust system, install an oil and trans temp sensor, ooops, nevermind, I just crossed the financial threshold of eating Top Ramen for the next 2 months.

You will enjoy the change. It is quicker off the line. 1st gear goes by fast, as to be expected and 2nd chirps real easily. I'm pleased with the 4:10's myself.

I had 4.10's installed last Friday. Now its super easy to spin the tires off the line, coming off a turn in second, etc. Great mod. DO IT! (like in Starsky and Hutch)

Sean - please post your driving impressions ASAP when they're in. I've been wavering for weeks now as to whether or not to do it. Steeda.ca recommended 4:10's too so I'm dying to get more feedback. I'm not too interested in the quarter mile, just seat of the pants around town driving where you can actually do some 0-60's without attracting too much attention - despite the fact that we can do it in 5 seconds. I'm curious to see if the 0-60 times drop a bit with the new gears.
So let us know - and thanks - Mark.

you wont regret the 4.10's
i got em months ago....forgot what it was like without em until i drove my sisters stock 05 gt...night and day difference. i pull the stock gt off the line no problem, and keep pulling up to 140 (didnt take it faster)
DO IT.

I am taking it to AMP, it's just 5 minutes from where I work. I hear good things about them. I too used to go to Turbo RX, so I am essentially in the same boat as you. I'll be sure and let everyone know how it turns out.

Know how you feel,
I'm scheduled for the 4:10's and a Borla catback on the 29th, had a tough time deciding between the 4:10's, 3:90's or stock but everyone who has done the 4:10's seems pretty jazzed about 'em.

I would think the 4.10's would be overkill for an everyday driver if that is the case, I would stay with the factory 3.55's, besides this 4.6 doesnt have the low end torque, the power band that counts is in the upper rpm range with this motor..IMO..

It is only 500 rpm diffrence 70 is at 2500 rpms on mine.
373s is a crazy stay with the stock 355 if thats all you plan on doing. :nono:
I drive a everyday driver and i would go lower if i did it again so that is my 2 cents
dont be scared of 410s I was scared of the 430s and went with 410s now i would go with 430s .
