4.10 Gears but nowhere to get them installed

I am in a bit of a pickle. The one mod I really want to do to my car is install a set of 4.10 gears in my rear end, but I am facing a problem. I live in Jackson, Mississippi and around here there are no speed shops. I really dont know who to get to install the gears. The dealerships around here are not really mod friendly. My dealer has no trouble with small mods like CIA and such but they do not install aftermarket parts. Who should I turn to? Anyone know of any reputable people or shops around this Mississippi or Lousiania area that may be of some service to me?

Its a real bummer. I always rode motocross for my kicks, but living in Jackson the closest track is 2 hours away. Thats alot of driving for a little fun. So now I have moved to my second lifelong interest in cars, especially Mustangs. I have 2 drag strips within close driving to my house but no reputable shops. I just picked the wrong area to live in.

My dealership installed my gears(only because my neighbor-mechanic works there). Although they gave me the riot act about the warranty they didn't have a problem accepting the payment for the install. Are there any diesel mechanic shops around?,they mey be able to help out.

So go to one of the 2 dragstrips nearby and ask around. If there are racers, there are mechanics nearby to support those racers.

I had my gears installed by a 4-wheel drive shop. My thinking was they do more differential work than anyone, so they should know what they're doing.

I'm in the same pickle.... would prefer not to go to the dealer and get bent over for this install. Trying to find a reputable installer in the Charlotte area.

The main problem with my area is the tracks are good but all imports and crotch rockets... The tracks are only advertised on the local rap station in town...

Would the dealer be reluctant to install aftermarket parts if you installed the FRPP 4.10 gear set?

Just an idea ...

The dealer would probably install them... but, they are also known to charge alot more for labor... When I was looking for tires my dealership told me they could get me the same tires I was looking for at another place... but the price was about 20 dollars more at the dealership per tire... I just would really like to find a respectable place to do something like changing out my gears

How much does dynospeed in Memphis charge to install them? You don't need a hot rod shop just someone that knows what they are doing.. I know there are several shops in the Memphis area. Try getting a Ford tech to do a side
job at your or his house. They like cash.

Go to the dealer, pay a little more but have piece of mind that you have someone to go back to if there is a problem. Use the FRRP gears with the install kit. You don't want to cut corners on a key part of your drivetrain.

Why not call Doug, he doesn't seem to be too far away from you. 4 hours and you get one of the best

Give these guys a Call 704-896-3339 www.boostedperformance.net 704-896-3339. The shop owner Donny is a good friend of mine, you won't be disappointed. Donny will be doing my gear install when my 08' comes in.

The problem with Doug is he is a very busy man who does dyno tuning. I dont recall it ever mentioning that he does installs? Birmingham is a little further from my city than Memphis and I spend alot of time in Memphis because I have friends that live there. Dyno Speed sounds like a great place I will be calling them within the next few days to try and get a price quote. Thanks for the info fellas!
