That aluminum driveshaft that failed was made by a small shop. The failure was due to a balance problem that went uncorrected. The owner of the driveshaft even admitted that there was a vibration problem before the failure and that is when he should have parked the car until the problem was resolved. That failure was totally avoidable. I consider that a rare, isolated incident and I didn't let it stop me from purchasing a Coast aluminum driveshaft from Tillman. The only problem I had was that UPS damaged it so I am waiting for another one to arrive.

5.0 mustang magazine just did a head/cam swap on an S197. The head swap alone only got +/- 13 hp and tq. That's a sorry $/HP ratio. But with the head and cams, then it got around 48 more hp and 40 ft/lbs torque. I kinda wished they just did the cams and dyno'd those. The article forgot to mention, but the photos show the engine on the swap had longtubes already. Kev's right, you need a lot of flow - both out the car and out your wallet to get the most out of a cam swap.

i cant stress enough. put SHOCKS AND STRUTS in your car. lowering springs murder your stockers, and the ride suffers considerably. get a set of d-specs and get the stang to drive a lot nicer. other suspension concern are rear control arms. if you leave the stock ones in there your wheels will hop like crazy. the rubber bushings are just not up to snuff. i am not saying go spend a huge chunk of change on suspension but upper/lower control arms with relocation brackets and a set of d-specs will help your cause considerably while going in a straight line. not even turning. Also i think the driveshaft UDP's and deletets from tillman are going to help considerably. And besides after meeting cr myself and going to the shop i can do nothing but reccomend him 100%
