Geoff,
Great job
BTW do you still have the stock control arms? If so, how did you control wheel hop?

if its any consolation to the ls1 guys, the ws6 was bone stock and did 2.28 60', and the ss had exhaust of some sorts but nothing else and did 2.17 60', so best run for best run i would have my hands full with that firebird
edit: my friend just informed me that my other friends dad has video of the ws6 run

Great job, not sure if you should say "mostly stock" because the tune and those gears make a huge difference. I was thinking about getting those gears but I do a lot of highway driving

WOW!! Guess 4.10s are on my list next. You almost gained 23 mph on the top end!!! Gears, intake, tune, and an off-road x-pipe might be able to get us into the mid-low 12s@~110. I am getting more impressed with this car day-by-day.

Congrats! Gears are definitely on my list as well. I already got a 12.9 quarter mile with my g-timer (not sure how absolutely accurate that is) and I don't have gears yet. Plus, I have an auto. My mods are listed below. After adding 4.10 gears and LCAs, along with all my current mods, I can see me getting into the mid 12's.

What's up dude, I talked to you last night after your first pass. Those were some great improvements you made on subsequent passes. You had a bit of wheel hop, but not as much as the black 05 without the mufflers. Best he made was a 14. As for LS1s, there wasn't that good of a showing that night. Good job!

yes stock control arms. first run i dropped from 2k, no wheel hop, but a minor bog down. second run i dropped from 2500, significant wheel hop, friends said it looked like i was bag of popcorn popping in the microwave
. third and 4th dropped from 2200, wheel hop but decent hook up after 20-30ft. the way my times were goin down, i guarentee these are 12sec cars with gears, intake, tune and NO slicks :worship: . ill def have to scan/post the slips today if i get a chance.

I have purchased the Steeda LCA's, they are not installed yet. I have not experiance the wheel hop thing yet...I did my first burnout yesterday, launched it at 4k, it went right to the rev limiter much quicker than I thought, banged second, again right to the rev limiter...I did not feel or hear anything resembling wheel hop, I am trying to determine if I even need the LCA's

, Can some tell me how to produce the wheel hop so I can determine to sell or keep the LCA's. If I had my choice, I would rather not have them because I dont want to increase noise or comprimise the ride. I purchased the Steeda street/ race LCA'sand am running 32 psi in the stock tires.

However, on a wet road, I did turn off the TCS and spun the tires in first gear from a rolling start just by mashing the throttle, and did notice some wheel hop, though it wasn't violent.

holy thread resurrection, Batman!
but to the posters question, wheel hop occurs right at the boundary between traction and lost traction. if you rev and dump the clutch, itll just spin them. wheel hop occurs when you attempt to LAUNCH the car as hard as possible W/O losing traction, and the hoppage is very detrimental to your cause.
bmr's LCAs completely eliminated it for me...but introduced so much interior noise that i can only stand having them on when i go to the track (which i did once...dropped 60' down to 2.05, but hot day kept my runs between 13.28 and 13.55 all day
