Yeah it went great. I been stressing over it for quite some time. I used the Sea Foam Deep Creep after breaking them loose 1/8-1/4 turn. After sitting for about 30 min I was able to take the driver's side plugs out by hand with just the socket and extension. Other side was a little harder but not really that bad at all.

Stormbringer, based on your name here, are you a Deep Purple fan? Or does it have other meaning?

Hey there Chris ! Glad to know that none of your plugs broke, especially at 118,000 miles..

We took mine out last October and followed the Ford TSB by breaking them lose by 1/8-1/4 turn and then used Motorcraft carb cleaner and let sit for 2 hours then used 1/4 turns until each came loose enough to extract by hand..

All 8 plugs came out with no problems whatsoever, however my car had only a little over 12k miles when we extracted them but decided to change them anyhow being as they were the original plugs installed by the factory that were over 8 years old, so I didn't want to take the risk of them possibly breaking inside the heads due to carbon build up..

At any rate, after reading over your post, I won't feel nearly as stressed over when it comes time to replace the plugs the next time around..

In the meantime, your post has been very helpful and would also like to say congrats and great job

Cool...from their Coverdale era. I think three albums with him. The group (with Ian Gillian) is still touring and releasing albums. I missed a chance to see them by one week last year. I was down at Keesler AFB in Biloxi, MS for a week last August and they were performing at the Hard Rock Casino the week after I came home.
