Stock 05 with no mufflers

I have a 05 GT thats completely stock except for an SCT/Bama tuner. I had the mufflers removed a while back and the just seem very quiet to what I imagined they would be. Would Flowmaster Super 10's actually be louder than no muffler at all? I of course would prefer louder, as loud as possible.

hey Rod - Welcome to TheMustangSource - Good question and pulling the mufflers of will just shoot some pretty excessive noise - If you we're to go with a Flowmaster Setup they'll still have a very straight through sound but it's going to be more refined - It's tough finding videos on YouTube as lots of guys have different setups but I found this guy that's fairly stock to give you a better idea of what they would sound like. I've had them on my '01 Bullitt and they we're awesome but I went with Their Outlaw Series Axle-Back on my '08 Bullitt.

get rid of the cats and go one step farther and get some long tube headers. That will get you some noise.

I gotta agree with Glenn. The cats are really what brings down the volume. Loose them or get high flows. I ran off road X pipe with Bassani BX mufflers and it was LOUD. Like start it up in a parking lot and little kids cried loud. I later added some high flow cats to tame it a little.

I think no mufflers might get you even louder but frankly I think that they sound awful. I think you need something to get you a nice tone to go with your volume. Led Zeppelin cranked all the way up will always sound better than Abba cranked all the way up.

When I first got my 06, I but flowmasters axel backs on and it wasn't much louder than stock. So I went with muffler deleats. It is louder but as been said you have to get ridof the cats to get loud.
