Dam, look at me, I don't even have the car yet and I'm already thinking of what mods to do!!! I just traded in my 03 SVT Cobra on an 06 GT this weekend. Here's the specs on the new car:

Tungsten Silver
Medium Parchment INT
IUP
Anti Theft
18 inch wheels and tires - still waiting on final pricing for these
Spoiler Delete
Shaker 500 sound system

I have the following mods planned:

C&L or JLT cold air intake
BBK Throttle Body
JBA Long Tube Headers
JBA X pipe w/cats
SLP Loudmouth's - Plan to disturb the neighbors a little!!!
Diablosport Preditor tuner

I plan to run the car on a dyno before doing any of this to get a base line and then proceed with the mods in stages.

I would appreciate any advice/input from those of you who already have some of the mods mentioned like cost, performance increase, and any problems you may have run into. Any other suggestions would be appreciated too.

Now the waiting begins, I won't get the new car until the end of Sept.

Just wake up your recipe with 4.10's and it looks like a good meal!

Not sure I want 4.10's, I do some highway driving and the 4.10's may be a little much. I'll see how it is with the factory 3.55's before I swap out the gears. Although I'd love to swap in a 6spd and then run the 4.10's!!!

Why did you decide to trade in your 03 Cobra for the 06 Mustang? Just curious as to why because I am trying to decide between the two.

The 03/04 Cobra's are amazing machines. They can make insane power and toast just about any other car on the road once modified. :worship: Problem is they have issues. The biggest issue is the infamous head tick. Basically the heads don't have sufficient cooling to deal with the supercharged motor. In stock form, shouldn't be much of an issue. Once modified is when the problem will rear it's ugly head. I've read stories about guys who have had their heads replaced two and three times only to have the "tick" come back. :notnice: (check out SVTPERFORMANCE.COM, the terminator forums.) Other problems I've had are paint chips, primarily the hood (there's a tsb out on this) and drive train and suspension clunks, this is with only 855 miles on the clock. There is a fix for the head tick, the Apten cooling mod, but it requires removing the trans $$$. The other issues Ford has been making good on. What it all comes down to is the 03/04 Cobra's require a lot of maintenance which I just didn't feel like dealing with. I just felt I could get the 06 GT which is a better car, do a few mods and get it in the 12's which is fast enough for me, and have less issues. All comes down to a personal prefference. If you like the awesome performance the 03/04 Cobra has, then get one. Just be prepared for the maintenance that goes along with owning a car like that.

I got $29,000.00 after a lot of going back and forth with the dealer.
