havent' found the function yet? Been out for over a week.
It's just one of those things that we agree to disagree on.
Both the upper and lower honeycomb panels are there for aerodynamic reasons. If you remove them, you will decrease the ability of the car to deflect air around the car. Not a big deal for everyday driving, but I'm sure you would see a decrease in mileage. Not too sure how much it would affect 1/4 mile times, however.
Yeah - forgot I read about that - that's why some of the honeycomb spots are filled in while others are not - little tweaks to try and better adjust the aerodynamics on this big horse....

Actually, i think I remember reading that the original reason those pieces were put in place is because the car was running hot, and they were trying to direct more air into the radiator. It worked, and as an added benefit improved the aerodynamics of the car. Seems like the lower grill honycombs are more functional than they seem.

It's been close to 80 degrees in middle GA here lately, still not running hot, so what do you think jsheenhan???
Oh and I guess it isn't that big of an aerodynamic difference since the car still runs 13.50's at 100 mph....call me crazy....LOL

I like the idea of changing that area too - I was thinking more along the lines of putting more of a screen type material behind the middle area - not like a window screen but I saw a modded pic somewhere where they had done that and it looked sharp.....wish I could find that again!

I believe I saw it also, more like a mesh/metal type screen.

Exactly - I wonder where I could find some of that material? Would not be difficult to cut/paint/attach - that lower grill area is begging for it!!

I was thinking about painting the lower grill inserts sonic blue to match my car. But then i had another thought. I'm wondering how it would be to cut out where the "honey combs" are. to make it match the upper grill look.

that would look pretty good, but it would be near impossible to do, or at least extremely time consuming.
