I was j/k. My Cobra is a few steps below as far as design, in and out, no question. Performance wise it is no contest, the Cobra waxes the '05. But it is a no brainer if compared to the previous GT or Bullitt. Against the Mach 1 it is a lot closer.
I drove it hard and its response was great all around and did not noticed any trottle handicap. I was very impressed with the handling. It is a definite: the best GT ever and better than any Shelby (I can feel the flames coming ), with the exception of the hood and ducktail spoiler. Another 100 hp/torque, wider wheels/tires, a different hood, a dark green or blue exterior, an upgraded upholstery pattern, and it will be ecstasy in utopia.

I pulled a Dan today and took a 5-speed GT for a TD. By myself. On the open road. With no blue lights encounter... thankfully!
It was FAAAAAAAAAAAAAATASTIQUE!!!
I had lots of fun. Then I had to get in my POS Cobra and go home.

I voted for the V8 but it all depends on what you need the car for. If its gonna be an everyday driver that you forsee leasing and trading in in a few years go for the V6 because of the gas mileage and lower car payment.
But if you want something for fun and you plan on keeping it for a while go with the V8. Just amke sure you don't buy a vehicle you can't afford and have to get rid of, that would be the pits.

What's a V6?
Just kidding; I rented a V6 05 down in Tampa over New Years, and it was still pretty impressive.
HOWEVER,
I just giggle every time I downshift and take off in my 05 GT! :drive:

After reading all of the topics, I need help in deciding which model to get. I'm thinking a V6 Coupe - Premium or the V8 Coupe - GT. :bang:

V8 of course if you can swing the extra bucks. I wouldn't consider the V6 just because of better fuel economy. There's really not that big a difference between the two cars. Insurance is another story, not to mention the difference in initial cost.
Although I haven't driven a V6 yet, I would imagine that 210 hp will provide enough performance when need to keep a grin on your face. And if that's true, just imagine what a V8 will do!
I suggest you trot down to Hertz and rent a V6 for a weekend to help you decide.
Interestingly enough, I have only seen 4 new Mustangs in my small town and all were V6's. No GT spotting yet.

Which isn't saying much, but I get your point Doug.
I know you're a long way away from driving, but have you ever considered how much insurance is going to cost you? It's OK. Just be patient and in time you too will have a Mustang GT.

I bougtt a V6 because of the following:
1) I'm only 18 and insurance is around $6000 a year with a GT
2) I drive from school to work and work to home everyday and gas mileage is very important
3) I got the coupe for 14k instead of the 20k for the GT
The GT was a lot more fun to drive during the test drive, but for now, I'll stick with my v6. In two years and I'm done with school, I'll buy a v8

Buying the top of the line leaves no second guessing or regrets from the start. The only exception would be the color. It might mean $5K more now, but a lot less if you change your mind in 6 months.

My first ponycar had a V-8. My next one will have a V-8. And the one after that(unless I find a REALLY good deal on a '89 Turbo T/A )...(you get the idea...)
If I'm worried about gas mileage, I'll drive my Nissan.
