Used 2012 GT500 vs Used 2013 GT (New Supercharger)
My friend asked this question as he was planning to move out of grabber blue V6. He was in market for used stangs and found few with low miles (9K) 2012 GT500 at 40K...so he asked me what my opinion was whether to buy this or to get a 2013/14 GT used which is also in market for 28K and add a supercharger 10K down the road. Price wise both are same... mile driven wise used GT are around the same too...

I'd go for the GT500. Their equipment levels will be about the same, but you can't deny the "coolness" factor of owning the top dog (snake in this case). Plus the GT500 will easily make more power, mod for mod. Unless he's stuck on the 13-14 taillights and LED running lights, that would be my choice. Plus Glass Roof just because

That would most likely be a driver's race, but the SC 5.0 would have the potential to beat the '12 Shelby if it were stock. But a pulley swap and tune on the Shelby will put it back on top of the SC 5.0...so there

Shelby is a little more rare and might be worth more down the road. But a supercharged GT is gonna win in a race. 6-8 lbs of boost on a GT is a little over 600 to the wheels. Shelby will be in the 490's-510 range.

Assuming the Shelby would stay stock. If he's going to SC a GT, he's going to mod a GT500...

If he's looking for prestige, then the GT500. If he just wants a fast Mustang, the GT. Insurance is going to be higher on the GT500. And the 12 GT500 is really hard to drive fast. So many traction issues. That's why they made so many changes to the 13.
Again:
to be cool= GT500
to be fast= GT
Again:
to be cool= GT500
to be fast= GT
