Sometimes you just gotta hate the Germans!!

Or love 'em. The other night, I watched the tail lights of an old Audi 200tq 20V recede in the distance. He was running serious boost and my stock 05 mustang gt, flat out, couldn't even keep me on as a spectator...

It ain't racing if you don't stand a chance! It was an old Audi, not a Porsche...

C32, a 3.2 liter N/A V6, 349 hp. 0-62 in 4.9 seconds. and thats the old one try racing the new C55 AMG, 5.5 V8 362 HP 0-62 in 4.5 seconds
I raced against an AMG at the 1/8-mi track last night. Not sure which one it was, but it whooped me pretty good. He ran an 8.417@89.46 (~13.07 in 1/4) vs. my 8.682@81.08 (~13.48 in 1/4).

I agree. If I do race, personally. It's 0-60 (at most) when conditions are 'good'. I would personally never race highspeeed on a highway. But, people are going to do it, no matter what. So, might as well hear their stories. And those AMG's aren't anything to mess with either.
I rarely get into these dog fights anymore, but I'm also not one to back down easily from a challenge, especially one this ferocious and delberate. I didn't realize this was an AMG Mercedes until after the situation had commenced. I'm sure he knew he had me covered, but of course a $55,000 vehicle better have me covered. As I said, I've got a couple very minor mods on my car and I believe I gave him more than he anticipated. Had we gone for something more serious on roads clear and safe enough to handle it, he'd have had my lunch.

A few months ago I ran against a Mercedes SL600, rolling from 60 mph. I flat out got killed, that's o.k. though the SL600 packs 500hp out of a V12 engine plus they are well over $100,000. I might have faired better if we ran from a dead stop. Those cars are all high end performance.
