Suspension Gurus: FRPP vs. Roush?
I have the Roush springs, struts and shocks. I haven't done swaybars because I am always hearing about issues with bolts coming loose and rattles. I know the FRPP package will give you a lower drop but I am very happy with my setup. Hopes this helps alittle!
Being that this time around I am not going to do any track time as it becomes a bottomless pit of tinkering-I am going FRPP all the way. No reason to get into hand-picked and adjustable parts on a street car(I've thrown the Steeda catalog at a couple stangs). To me it seems like a great package with no-muss, no-fuss. Thousands of Shelby GT's are getting it and everyone who has reviewed it loved the way it drives....But if you are running a GT500 will any of those kits work? I would think the front spring rates would need to be different at the very least.
Why would a swaybar come loose if it is installed properly, do they use special bolts or something?

The lowered suspension seems like a good change—and the GT certainly looks better when parked—as we chuck it into the first couple of corners. It’s far more buttoned down, with less body roll. Just don’t drive it on a really rough section of pavement; trust us, we tried that. Over moderate bumps, the GT’s ride is firmer than we’d like and gets uncomfortable after about a two-hour stint. Then we hit a murderous stretch of potholed two-lane, where any semblance of a pleasing ride-and-handling balance fell apart. More than once we wondered if we were going to stay in our lane, or even on the road, as the front and rear axles seemed to be bobbing and wiggling completely out of sync with each other, while the quick-off-center steering gives only a rough estimate as to where the car is pointed. Not that a regular Mustang would have faired all that much better...
I had the full Roush suspension on mine. I was disappointed in the end. I got it because it's touted as high performance without sacrificing comfort. It ended up being too comfortable for me. In retrospect, I think I would have been happier with a stiffer, more aggresive suspension package.
Even with the Roush suspension, I feel like my coworkers stock WRX handled better. It feels much tighter and more nimble.
