so today i met another stang
i drive an 02 v6 auto so im not really into going all that fast or anything
but today i pull out of my driveway on my way to the local petco which i just jump on the highway for 2 miles and im there and a 96-98 auto gt comes around the corner fast and gets behind me
now i was always under the impression that even an automatic gt was alot faster than my car
so we get to the highway at about 45-50 on the onramp and he's a full car length behind me and it was obvious he wanted a little fun so i raced him to 100 (its a completely empty highway) and at the end my door was even with his rear bumper
now did he just not try? or are auto v8's slower than i thought?

the 96-98 mustangs were the first years of the mod-4.6l V8. They made about 220 horsepower, which is quite a bit less than the 99-04 made(they made 260). If your stang is stock, i'd imagine it would have 200 horses. I know torque is a bigger factor since this is an onramp, the 4.6 has a pretty good mountain of torque. I dont know if he floored it or not, but i bet he was surprised by the power of your v6.
