My friend has an 01 Regular cab ranger with the 4.0 SOHC. As a former ranger owner I know its a rare combo. Who would be quicker?

even if it is a V6 their is nothing wrong with that at all + it saves you money on gas

The Mustangs gear ratios are suited better for quicker acceleration than a truck in general. Hands down ... YOU. Plus the unsprung weight of a tracuk, etc. I could go on.

Definetley the Stang. The sixes are relatively quick for the size of their engines and like 05windveil said they are geared for performance more than the Rangers are.

In 2001 the 4.0L SOHC Ranger V6 produced 207 H.P. and roughly 235 lb/ft of torque. This is not concrete info. I got this information from two different websites.

Bottom line you will smoke your buddy's Ranger.
