PitPup's '07 GT vs. Bubba's '06 GTO...
Just got back from Maryland to see the goat in person. Both our cars are stock. Mine had 700 miles, his 900 miles on the odo when we left the house. We went out on Route 6 and picked a nice straight-away. Let's see. 0-60, 5-60, 30-80 (from 2nd in both cars), and just about any other from/to combo you can think of... I got beat every time (no duh!).
Note I said beat, not embarrassed. 400hp/3750+ lbs vs 300hp/3400+ lbs. The sweetest thing I can say is this. He did not 'smoke' me. Rather, methodically pulled away a couple of feet here, a couple of feet there with each shift. You could see the gap plain as day, but I would in no way say I got smoked by my little bubba!
The outcome was predictable. The margin, and the way it was achieved, was very much a surprise. I may have more 'skillz' than him at shifting so this may have added to the 'slightly pulling away factor'. In other words, a better driver may have 'smoked' me in the Grabbah, Grabbah.
So all in all, I gotta say, very pleased with the outcome considering the BIG difference in power. Oh, and the best part? I was in Delaware, coming home on Sunday afternoon, and this couple was coming from the opposite direction in their brand new C-6... and gave me a big 'thumbs up'... I accepted the 'thumb' in as humble of a manner as I could...![Embarrassment](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/redface.gif)
So, even though I'm 0-6 lifetime against GM products (all six coming against my brother's GTO, I'm surely not hanging my head in shame. (Can you say Washington Generals versus the Harlem Globetrotters?)
A great first road trip for El Diablo, I must say.![04](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/04.gif)

If it's any consolation, I think your car looks a lot nicer than the GTO. The GTO may be faster but it just doesn't have the killer looks of the S197. And you didn't pay nearly as much for your car as your bubba did.

From a dead stop, the CAI/tune/gears combo might help a bit - from a roll, I don't know that the gears will help too much....
Those GTOs are nasty.
I went with one for the heck of it for 10 seconds on the turnpike from like 75 and the guy just walked me......
As for what I would want to OWN?
Dude I would take that tasty orange slice ANY day over the goat.....
She looks great Pup!

Where's the side-by-side pics? So far, the only time I've lined up against another car was the day I took delivery of my '07 GT. As I'm heading back to work, I'm at a stoplight and in the rearview mirror I see a bright yellow Nissan SE-R change lanes two or three times then pull up beside me at the light. He revs his engine and his buddy is laughing trying to get me to go. Dang, I just got the car and don't even have 50 miles on it yet! Light changes and they take off squealing the tires. WTF, I'm not racing, it's a new car! I'm taking it easy and they've already pulled over a car length ahead.........
I barked second right beside the passenger door as I went past! They turned off at the next light.
