have you ever sat in a GTO? it's certainly not a "crappy car". stop being such a flipping homer. some of you guys are worse than the mustang haters on ls1gto.
i agree 100%. i actually like the GTO. and the charger. i dont get why everyone gets so uppity about em

sure the goat is ajust a rebadged holden.. but they fail to realize that a Holden Monaro is a sweet car in itself!! and remember y'all, the original goat was a rebadged le mans with a mig motor. gee... sounds kinda familiar. just a rebadged other car with a happy motor so in a way, it IS the essence of GTO.

and i have sat in athe GTO as well. beatiful interior (and i love the sleeper exterior). i loved it! never got to drive it (yeah, like they're gonna hand the keys to a 400 horse behemoth to a 16 year old with an afro... only in my perfect dream world...)

same goes for the charger. so it has four doors. who cares? how many other 340 RWD V8 sedans are there out there for under $30K these days? its a flippin great car!! and i like the way it looks anyhow :P

moral of my longwinded post?

stop hatin. they may not be 100% american, but they hold true to the ideals of American Muscle. if you dont like em, thats great, we all have our opnions, just dont throw out comments like "its crappy" or "it sucks" just cuz u dont like it.

i'd love to have a charger or a GTO someday, along with my mustang. all three, are GREAT cars

Neither one are "crappy cars" people just comare them to what they think they should be. What they were. The GTO and Charger are great, they just seem like another car.

Actually there seems to be plenty of power to go around. Not all are exaclty inexpensive, but the 300C comes close at $34000. To me the only difference between the Charger and 300 is a reworked sedan exterior and a name. That doesn't mean its a bad car however.

lol, thats kinda what they are, just reworked ext. stuff. but i think the 300 has more luxo stuff..

and about them being good but not what they should/were be. i think they both embody their pasts very well. less so for the charger, but heck, the challenger is coming out soon, if you want a tudor.

anyhoo, i didnt mean to point fingaz or insult anyone, just stating my thoughts

I drove an '06 GTO at the GM Autoshow in Motion this past weekend.

First off, still hate the exterior. Still a rebadged Cavalier or Grand Am.

Interior was alright. Its a Pontiac interior. Nothing really to set it apart from any other Pontiac. Seats were decent enough. It seemed to have less room in the back as it felt alot tighter putting my kid in the back than in the Mustang.

Shifter felt like it had a longer throw than the 'Stang and the steering felt disconnected from the car. I felt like I had to turn the steering wheel way too much in before the car reacted. Power was good in the car, but I could never get out of second 'cause the course was so short (even then I had to force myself to shift to second, not like I really had to.)

From what I drove, I'm still glad I have an '05 Stang over the GTO. Better bang for the buck all around.

Thats one thing i've noticed about GM's. The ones I have driven are early to mid 90's, but the steering feels loose, and the gas pedals feel like they almost "stick." In my dads 94 GMC truck you have to really step on the gas to get it to move. Then when it finally does go you end up pressing it harder than you intended. Besides that its an extended cab long bed so its like driving a limo.
