I did my first race (ever, not just in my Stang) from a stoplight like 5 mins ago!!! The secretary here wanted me to give her a ride around the block in the new Stang, so of course I obliged. She's a sorority girl and has a V6 Stang (2 generations old), so I figured she's into driving fast and stuff. We were at a light on the access road of 183 and I turned off traction control and told her we'd squeal the tires some (I've never done this before btw, so I was preparing to embarrass myself). Little did I know there was an Acura RSX-S right beside me, giving me the evil eye. The light turned green and I gave it a little bit too much gas and spun for a bit longer than appropriate. The RSX shot out ahead almost a car length (that's when I noticed him). Right when his back bumper was about to clear my hood, my wheels hooked up and the Stang annihilated him. I let off around 65 and he pulled the good ole "ricer flyby"...
It was actually quite exciting. I wonder if doing that is bad for my clutch...

Welcome to race-aholics anonymous! Good job on smoking the RSX. I got surprised by one of those when I barely beat him. He MUST of had it souped up, cause stock for stock should be no contest. As for your clutch, just don't go crazy and you'll be alright. You can always throw in a racing version later on.

uh oh, now you've gone and done it, you backed off at 65 and now that guy is in his forum saying he smoked you because he kept racing and they are all too stupid to realize when someone else is not, I can see it now..."I got a good jump on him then he caught up and then like around 65 I just pulled away and left his hiney behind dude, those cars have no top end." LOL good kill, we all know the truth.

Ha. God I love this car. It's sooooo different from my old car, it's crazy. It like totally takes over my better judgment. I literally turn into a different person when I get in it. I mean, I don't go weaving in and out of traffic like a maniac, but I definitely don't just putt along like I used to.
Rear wheel drive is f-ing awesome!! If my Prelude, my front wheels slipped and skipped under heavy acceleration. With the rear wheel drive, it's just a smooth squealing of the tires, no shaking or jarring or anything. Then when they hook up, it like kicks you back in the seat. It was awesome!

About the secretary, I already have a gf...=P When we got back to the office and were talking about it with the other coworkers, she said she was actually a bit scared... But yes, she kept saying how fast it was and how it slammed her back in the seat, etc...

Yeah, I don't even know what 1431 is. I guess it's a street somewhere? Who meets there, AASers? or just all types of car people? Anyways, gimmie the info, I do wanna go...but this weekend I'm taking a trip to Ft. Worth, so it will have to be next time.
