Comparison of Mustang to C6
Just wanted to drop this one in here as well. The reviewer seems to have done a pretty fair comparison. At least I can see most of his points in the topic, it goes downhill as some of the "diehard" fans jump in though.

This is interesting:
I've said it before and I'll say it again. The fact that many compare the GT to a car twice the price says TONS about the GT. Bang for the buck? Forget about it. If someone were to choose to drop 10K in mods on a GT it would eat the vette alive. And seat four (if not that comfortably in the back).
He made another comment about the head rest, but I had no problem with it. Could be a question of seat adjustment.
All in all, I enjoy driving the Mustang almost as much as the C6, even though it has an automatic transmission. It's actually good to have both as they are both respectable cars. The Mustang shouldn't really be compared to the C6 on an even keel due to the Mustang being almost half the price of the C6, but I do think Ford needs to focus on some of the ergonomics like the headrest, tilt steering, and view of the gauges that would really improve the car for little money.
It's funny though, the cars are close enough that they sort of play ping pong with my driving emotions. Every time I drive the Mustang I think to myself, "Man, this thing is fun. I'm not sure what I paid for in that Vette that is worth twice the price". Then when I drive the Vette and really get into it, a tear forms in my eye and I think to myself, "darn! Okay. Now I remember what I spent my money on!"

and they say the mustang is dull.
i havent liked a corvette since 1975 :notnice:
its lost that boldness the look of the C1 and C2
its still to expensive for my taste
remember the GT-500 is $40,000 for 500 hp(most likely)
and the C6 vette is around $45,000 for 400hp
look at the numbers
although the Z06 is in a tottaly different class
like the Viper almost supercar class
but it is still around 70K
dont forget about a $5000 KB supercharger you can drop in there

It's being compared to the Vette because Ford and Chevy have a hate relationship, and because their isn't a Camaro to go up against. So logically, the comparisons would go to the next up, not down. Also, these two cars are THE American automobiles. When someone thinks U.S. Car, most of the time it will be either the Vette or the Stang.
Now the Vette versus the Shelby, THAT'S a worthwhile comparison imo!

Agreed Lalo!
The Shelby will be a much better comparison to the C6. They will be fairly close in price, alright 10K more for the C6. I will be interested in the future magazine comparisons that you know will come about when the Shelby does arrive.
