I guess it comes down to what plans you have for the car. If you want true exclusivity, a BOSS Laguna Seca is your ride. If track days and autocross are your thing, I'm betting a regular BoSs is your best bet but for a daily driver/GT/king of the freeway duty...GT500. But, blowing a BOSS might be a win win if u don't mind adding a little weight.

If FI are in the plans I'd just go with a GT or GT500. The Boss is meant to be an NA beast.
You guys have probably seen this by now. The GT500 didnt do much better in the 1/4 or road course for having an extra 110 ponies.

That'll kill the balance for sure, what makes a Boss work is being balanced around a nearly 450hp engine, not GT500 levels of torque and horsepower. A 600 or 700 or 800hp Boss would be just as inept at an autocross as a GT500 would be since GT500s have power in excess (read overwhelms the chassis) and since the rest of the drivetrain is not up to snuff like the stout pieces backing up a GT500 or a Cobra, you'd essentially end up with a dyno-queen.
As for the GT500 only being a 10th quicker in the 1/4, dont put much stock in that. I could put somebody's comatose grandma in my GT500 and she could rip 12.5-12.6 1/4 mile times all day in okay air before my pulley install.
This is how I did it; let the clutch out easy at 1800 rpm -> granny shft at 6000 rpm -> watch mid 12 second times magically appear on the board.
