I think if anyone could do it, Val Kilmer could. He's completely owned every role he's ever done. Need convincing? The guy was Doc Holliday and Jim Morrison. He also played Christian Slater's Elvis hallucination in True Romance.

My $0.02:

1. The Bullitt chase is boring (this will aggravate many fans, I know), except for the hair-rising growl of the two V8 monsters. Nothing exciting about two cars just going fast.

2. Gone In 60 Seconds (original) is more entertaining (read more stunts), but too long. There's not much of a movie around the car chase.

3. The chase in Gone in 60 Seconds (remake) is better "choreographed" then both the previously mentioned ones, although the jump at the end reminds me too much of the flying bus from "Speed".

So, my votes go to The Italian Job (original AND remake), The Transporter (1) and Ronin.

I'm really looking forward to seeing a S197 Mustang in a great car chase, be it in a remake of Bullitt or any other film. But please Hollywood, don't give the car keys to Brad Pitt!

I really like Seven-Ups also, and Minis in a chase makes me nervous (The Italian Job)

well, I would have to say bullit, but honestly, I loved all the chases of every single mad max movie, I think bullit has the best car chase of a NON car chases movie, but mad max man...
that australian falcon the way they filmed it, awesome.

I loved the vehicles also, when I was a child, All I wanted was the cow leather covered car haha.
and the interceptor of course.

The Gone in 60 remake stunk. There are at least 40 auto chases better that that turd of a movie.

And don't forget the run under the EL in The French Connection. A few of the best shots came about by accident but the car survived and they ran with it. The Borne movies had some great stuff too. I actually think Daniel Craig would make a great Bullitt.

The stuff from that one director is pretty good too, in Bad Boys and The Island. Over the top but much better the the transporter or gone in 60 poops.

Yea but none of that beat his performance in Real Genius.

+1 on this one

IMO I think that DONOVAN actor that was the main player in "BURN NOTICE" would be a great actor to do a "BULLITT II".

I voted original Gone in 60..that car went thru hell...it took ove 250 hrs to prepare that car for what it was going to go through..Toby Halicki knew what he was doing when he made that movie...The new one is good..but too much CGI..Bullitt is also good but not as long of chase as the original gone in 60..
