Bullitt! No one could replace Steve McQueen. But if someone made a remake, I'd watch it. I'd enjoy watching a chase with a new Mustang and a new Charger. Today I'd cast David Caruso from Miami CSI to play Bullitt. Or if they could put Clint Eastwood in a time machine and make him 30 years younger. Mel Gibson maybe? But I don't know that San Francisco would let the producers stage a chase scene through the City again like they did in '68.

Even though the Seven Ups and Ronin did not have flashy cars, both car chases were excellent.

Bullitt was great, but if you look closely, a lot of the scenes are the same shot filmed from different angles. It's better than either of the 60 Seconds movies, though.

For me, Ronin is the best chase.

IMO, the first Gone in 60 seconds was the most real car chase. They smashed so many cars I lost count.

Bullit, for the chase scenes, DM/Cl & VP forthe movies about chase scenes. Don't forget about The French Connection, nice chase scene there too.
And of course - Gumball Rally - before the stupid Burt Reynolds Cannonball Run disasters.
Long Live Brock Yates and the SEA to shining SEA Run.
Bring it back, I'll drive it if I can enter.

It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas

I geuss if the poll is centric to Mustangs, the three movies that are votable align with that basis.

Rendezvous? I've watched that many, many times and am still amazed that someone did that, on film and still was not caught. Amazing short film even if not a "chase."

So what about opinions on who's cool enough to replace Steve McQueen? That's a tough one, and I've got no good ideas...

I doubt anyone is cool enough and has enough character and sterness and coolness to replace Steve McQueen.

Bout maybe Brad Pitt
