Auto shifts perfect every time , never miss a gear and get maximum power 100 % of time. For stick, driver error, not 100 % all the time. Auto is faster but stick may be more fun although I don't care for stick.

Auto typically tends to be faster. Most cars that race on track want Auto. It shifts perfect every time. There is no human era. Hold it in first gear too long, pull into second to short etc. For straight track racing using auto is faster.

You take two identical cards stock no mods and race on 1/4 mile track . One has auto and one stick. Unless the driver using stick is 100 % perfect when shifting the auto will will. Assuming no tires were spun on either vehicle . Auto makes no mistakes when shifting
