But at the end of the day, it's still a neon. Not even worth the gas or risk of a ticket imo...there is one here in NV that I see almost every day coming home form work, he tries so hard to get me to stomp on it - I just laugh.

I can't believe that article calls the SRT-4 a modern day muscle car!

SRT4's should be taken very seriously, if that guy had any mods done to his car it would have been a different out come. They only weigh about 2600 lbs and can be made to produce over 300 hp at the wheels. Do the math. I used to have a turbo Shelby Charger that made 330 rwhp and I used to go hunting for unexpecting Mustang, Camaro and Vette owners. At 55 mph I could floor it and smoke the front wheels!!! Don't get me wrong here, I love Mustangs and would rather have a Mustang over a SRT4 any day. My point is never underestimate your opponent.

ive seen srt-4's run 12s with only a couple grand put in them. i would even go as far as to say they are just as fast or quicker from a roll as an sti or evo stock for stock. they "officially" run 13.9 stock, which is .2sec faster than ford's public rating of the 05 gt at 14.1. however, a stock 05 WILL beat a stock srt4 from the pit handily being rwd, and will slightly take it from a roll given equal drivers, from my numerous experiences, but by no means will roast it...
for the record, i HATE srt4's...not tryin to defend them at all really. im just saying that we should be baggin on the fact that they are just a NEON with a turbo instead of a real sports car, not relying on hearsay as to whether we are faster stock, cuz its close.
