Toyota surpassed ford at #2, and it's expected to pass up GM for the #1 spot as world's largest automaker

Yup -it's true... I still somewhat like 'em (Camry owner for 11 years
), but still dissapointed  at them for getting out of the performance market and just offering FWD posers now (Solara, Celica) as sports coupes. I think the MR2 is the only RWD car they offer

TOKYO -- If General Motors' stock continues to fall, Toyota Motor Corp. theoretically could shell out just one year's worth of profits to buy the Detroit automaker.
Toyota's market capitalization already is greater than that of GM, Ford Motor Co. and DaimlerChrysler AG combined. Market capitalization is the stock price times the number of outstanding shares.
GM's value continues to fall with its stock price. On March 24, GM's market capitalization was $16.6 billion. Indeed, the stock market values GM at less than Harley-Davidson Inc. It values the motorcycle maker at $17.3 billion.
Toyota expects to post operating profits of ¥1.67 trillion, or $15.69 billion at current exchange rates, in the fiscal year ending Thursday, March 31.

you know what i think the problem is? i think not enough of the american public smart enough to know the difference! the majority of ppl dont know anything about cars in general. if ppl knew more, they'd be less likely to get duped in the FWD poser cars
am i the only person that thinks an auto shop class should be mandatory before you can get you permit or license? so they know the advantages/disadvantages of FWD, RWD. AWD, 4WD, EFI, Carbs and how to do their own maintenence. ppl should know about cars. it'd also bring about a smarter country as a whole. little by little the country would become more intelectual and knowledgable.
this would beneift the entire country soooo much. am i the only one who thnkg so?

Lately though a lot of auto experts are predicting their downfall soon. There quality and safety has been suffering as of recently. I can't wait till they bite the bullet. I can't stand there cars or there dealers. Hey they can rename one of their vehicle the Crapolla instead of carolla
They're doing what detroit did back in the seventies. Cheaping out on parts and overcharging for extras. A lot of people sway towards Honda because the options are standard and there is more reliablity. Here's a quick fact: The most releiable vehicle for 2004 was the Hyundai Sonata according to consumer reports.
And here's a Ford fact: the most reliable american vehicle was the Mustang
Sure be my guest and use the Crapolla name. The more the merrier!
oh and trd doesn't stand for toyota racing development it just stands for "turd" but the japenese companies didn't know how to translate it!

That Sonata fact is really surprising. I've been looking at the new version of it, and I'm pretty interested in it. (the name got me interested because one of my screen names is Lalo Sonata lol)

i think it looks like a non-ford product aka POS

like Andy said, the Sonata looks a bit like the new Mazda 6. Mazda is a Ford product, so in turn, it does look like a ford product, hence the invalidness of you statement

that's classic. Hope you dont mind if I use it.
