Back when I bought my 11 the base 5.0's were around 6k more. I paid 22,500 back in 2010. I wanna say base 5.0 back then were like 30k for automatic plus 1,000 rebate = 29k. For 6k one could of gotten a pro charger super charger. Add that to the 22,500 = 28,500.
According to Edmunds ford is currently offering a 1,000 rebate on the 2012 v6 models. Not 3000 like the 5.0's. According to Edmunds a base v6 and upgrade to 3.31 gears one can get for around 22k. One can get a 2012 5.0 for 26k with the 3,000 rebate. 6 k for the super charger with the v6= 28k.
Doing the math the 5.0 is two grand less. Take that two grand and do some nice mods on the 5.0. Of course with the super charger on the v6 you will have around 475 hp compared to 412 hp.
Based upon the current pricing of a 2012 5.0 I say that's a great deal for the 5.0.

No I personally am not disappointed that my vehicle can't do 160. Currently I have no desire to travel so fast. Should I feel the need to travel 140 plus in my 11 sixer I will gladly purchase a shaftmater aluminum driveshaft from American Musscle that can handle those speeds. Along with radials that are speed rated appropriate for 140. Being that the car is already tuned im confident that my sports like vehicle can hit 140 plus.

How about we all step back for a minute and remember people come here for information or to listen to others viewpoints. Please don't act like children because you don't agree with the OP or can't see things from his point of view.
If you don't have anything to add or offer please feel free not to post.
BTW tbone WISHES his car had 305hp.

I understand what your saying and agree totally. I bought my sixer to save money because it was a waste of 6g to me to purchase the 5.0. Before someone hear completely turns this sentence around , the 5.0 is NOT a waste of money. It was only a waste of money for me and me only. The power of the 11 v6 produces was fast enough for me. I use the car to drive to the food store and down the shore on occasions . I don't need a 412 or 550 hp vehicle with Brembo brakes and 3.73 gears to do that.

Okay, well heres my serious reply..
I would get the 5.0 because the engine itself has far more potential than the 3.7. If you got the 3.7 then added the blower, BAM warranty gone. Better hope you didnt get a funny mt82.. At that point there wouldn't be much more power to gain without opening the engine up.. Plus its only a matter of time before something goes wrong, it went from 305hp to 475hp on stock internals, clutch, DRIVESHAFT... ect. Sounds like a ticking time bomb to me.
