Here's the commercial that made me fall in love with the car... saw this when I was very young, I was at most in 8th grade.

It actually was one of the best commercials of the year.

I love the look of the 300ZX, but in this case I think it's choosing the lesser of two evils. The original z-cars were supposed to be light, simple, tossable sports cars. At 3500+ lbs, i would not call the ZX tossable. This was the finale of it's evolution and it's a good thing they pulled the plug on it when they did (I don't count the new 350Z as a continuation of the line). In 96 this car was too heavy, too expensive, and was evolving into a luxo-cruiser with more electronic crap than it knows what to do with, but at least it is better the near 4000lb VR4.
Out of these two, the supra, and the RX7, only one of them remained a sports car ot the end, and strangely it was the first to go (the RX7) . They strayed from the original concept and now they're gone bye-bye.

oh trust me, i know they're expensive. i was looking at a used '95 before i got my II... 140K miles.... $19K!!!!!
and insurance? over $3K a year!!!!
but they still are cool cars. i'd love to own one someday

I'll take the 3000GT, my friend has a black one.
I've driven it and it launches like a mother!! His is lightly modded and has run close to a 13 flat. Tommorow is UTI student drags, we'll see if he can break into the 12's
(I won't be running btw)
I guess I may be biased since my friend owns one, and I've driven it. Lots of low-end in it.
The 300ZX is pretty cool too though.
