2010 Mustang GT (Modded) Vs 2012 Challenger RT
Buddy of mine just got a 2012 Challenger RT. of course he's bragging the hemi over the mustang Lol. I'm telling him I would take him easily because of the weight advantage & because of my mods but what do u guys think. Both of them are autos. The Mustang has JLT CAI with Tune & a Roush Catback Exhaust. Challenger is completly stock. Ideas?

Not sure what you are at for HP 315 hp plus 10 for the CAI and maybe 20 to 30 for the exhaust and tune?
If so that would put you around340ish.
A stock Auto Challenger weighs about 600lbs more than the Mustang but has in excess of 370 hp.
I'd say you would win but probly not by a mile.
I'm sure if you dig on the web you can find the quarter mile stats etc. for both base models.
I had a 2010 R/T and it's pretty quick.
I think who ever gets off the line first def. wins.

Moving to 'Which is Better' section, but will leave a link for today.
Also, feel free to post about your racing exploits at a sanctioned racing venue, but please refrain from posting 'street racing' stories/videos . . . should you actually "race."

If it's a Challenger R/T and not a Challenger SRT8 then a V6 Mustang would give him a good race, and a V6 Mustang with a good tune could probably beat him.
The 2012 Challenger R/T is a mid-13 second car. 13.5 to 13.6 second 1/4 mile. An unmodified V6 Mustang with the Sport pack is around a 13.6-13.7 second 1/4 mile car.
Your GT should have no problem at all beating him. In fact you could probably spot him 2 car lengths and still beat him, even without your mods.

Basically a new V6 Mustang is only .1-.2 seconds slower than the Hemi R/T Challenger. A CAI and tune will make the V6 Mustang faster. So, even with the 4.6, a GT should easily beat the R/T. Toss a few mods on the GT and it's no contest.

compared the 6.1 vs Bullitt's little 4.6. Inside line gave the edge to the Chally naturally, but my little 281 keeping right at even with the big bad 370 Hemi? Pfft.
Challenger owners may revel in a slight victory in that article, but I see the victory to Bullitt with its much smaller engine.
Stock for stock. Mods don't count. Anybody can mod.
The $40k Chally 6.1 w/gg tax only came auto with launch control & sticky 3 season tires so even a 10 year old could launch well. The $32k Bullitt (I got HID's & Alarm and msrp was 31975) only came with the 5spd Tremec and stock with BFG all season tires. So its a stock to stock comparison.
And your buddy's only got the 5.7 right?
(The 2010 Mustang you noted was the first GT to receive the same improvements from the 08 Bullitt program's 4.6 - and actually received some better handling improvements over Bullitt.)
Stock for stock, my money is on Bulltt over Vanishing Point in that side be side. Give him hell from charliehorse!![Wink](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)

Yes, I did not realize that he was running the 4.6. Shouldn't make any real difference though, since the 4.6 GT is still faster than the 3.5 V6 Mustang.

I also had an identical Challenger, a 2010 rt with the 376hp hemi. With the mods on the 2010 mustang gt I'd give the edge to the Mustang because of the enormous weight advantage. I know my 2012 Gt would leave my old Challenger in the dust. Hell, I think it would leave the new Challenger srt in the dust and that thing is 470hp.

This would make for a very interesting race. Stock, the new 5.0 should beat an R/T and the old SRT and would be a good match for the new 392. An R/T should beat the new 3.7 V6. A stock '10 GT against a stock R/T would very close. The R/T's power is underrated a bit by Dodge, but it is a heavy car. In a race this close, tires, wheel weights, and spare tires could all make a difference, but nothing as much as drivers' skill. With your mods, I'd give your Mustang a slight edge, but if the Challenger had the same mods, I'd give him the edge. As speeds increase, I think the R/T would start to pull away from your Mustang. Either way, it would be very close and I'd like to read the results.
