i guess the pt guys went and one was running in the 8's in the 1/8 if it were a 1/4 it would be more fun. if you know someone that is going to get a pt tell them to get the stick the auto is weak if they are modding. if they leave it stock then the auto is fine.

Tell him that it is time to put up or shut up,
Sounds like that there will be some PT's there to cheer him on. But I dont think that he will show up. might remind him that he ****ed off the PT bunch talking smack an now it is time for him to eat crow.

I agree. Tell him he's been jerking you around long enough. It's time to put up or shut up. No one like a braggart. Freebass should have him. Granted, I got friends who have PT's in the 12's in the 1/4 mile, but they have more than just ignition and exhaust.

Dude he's NOT going to step up unless his back is against a wall...

If he was so gung ho and serious to show you he could smoke you, he wouldn't be on this third chance to try and do it.....

That guy=
CHUMP....

Hope whatever he was doing was fun when he should have been backing up his big mouth.... I think someone spotted him that day....

I just went through this thread... good laughs

I just want to thank all the PT Cruiser guys who signed up and welcome them to the forum. I appreciate you guys for not acting like disrespectful kids trying to get banned (it does happen ). I'm sure all the regular member will be hospitable.

I personally am not a fan of the PT, but if that is the SRT4 driveline, then it can be built up to be a very quick sleeper

Either freebass' co-worker is all talk or he is hustling him bigtime...

Naw, we're all adults and know that respect must be given to be received. I personally have always liked Mustangs, well maybe except the 4cyl dogs and a couple of other models that didn't deserve the Mustang name. My cousin is a huge fan of 'Stangs and always talks about getting one. I try to convince him to buy one, but he's the type of guy that wastes his money on crap, and it looks like he'll never have enough money to buy a car, let alone have enough ambition to turn his permit into a license.

Actually, the SRT-4 has OUR driveline, not the other way around. Our 2.4L turbo setup was first designed for the PTGT, then it was decided to throw them into the Skittles as well. SRT-4's have the advantage of a better intake manifold, less weight, and slighty better aerodynamics.

I still want Freebass to race that guy. Even if his co-worker has a PT turbo, I hope Freebass wins 'cause I can't stand guys like his challenger who talks crap like that.

I understand many people don't like the exterior design of a PT, but I personally love it because it reminds me of the old 50's hot rods. What don't you like about it?

I'm continually impressed by the PT Cruiser in every aspect except for performance and quality. That's not a slam. I've actually come to like the look, the comfort / some of the materials used on the interior, and the utility of the vehicle. Maybe I need to drive the GT Cruiser.

You would like it, although it wouldn't be as powerful as your '05 GT. A moderately modded Stage 1, on the otherhand, might surprise you quite a bit.

LOL I would let you drive mine, if you didn't live like 7 hours away from me. LOL

I already told the wife to pack up the video camera. If it happens, I'll have on tape.

Freebass55, as you already heard you will get better times but not bad for the 1st time...my 1st time at the track: 60' 2.267 (spun like crazy) and the 1/8 was 9.466 @ 79.85...thats with 19" rims/tires...(the more i ran the better my times)i heard that every 10th of a second you shave off your 60' time takes out about double the time at the end of the 1/4...

I am not going to be able to post them until I get home, my camera phone doesn't take well enough pictures to post them.

Here are the times for the two races that we did...

Race 1:
Me: 1/8 - 8.920 @ 81.96 mph
Him: 1/8 - 10.649 @ 67.90 mph

Race 2:
Me: 1/8 - 8.670 @ 82.40 mph (my current best )
Him: 1/8 - 10.115 @ 68.75 mph

I also had a run (my first of the night) - 9.295 @ 79.78 mph.

He was a good sport about it. He said it was his first time at the track in about 3 years. And I believed him. He had some trouble at the start line. But fun times all around.
