NO WAY he has 300 HP from those mods alone, and even if he did...he is still way heavier than the stang. If he makes it down the track in under 16 seconds I'll be impressed. Roast his ricer a$$!!

The PT Cruiser is not rice. It's just a turd.

True, but the owners actions and attitude "i'm probably around 300hp because I've added a coffee can muffler and some stereo upgrades"...thats rice!

Umm.... I happen to know quite a few PT owners who happened to get into the low 14's at the California Speedway... as for myself, I was in the 15's.... so all your ragging on the PT is unjustified.

Read my post again, I said "no way he has 300 HP from those mods alone". I never said it could not be done...simple as turning up the boost, but that was never listed as one of the mods the guy did to his PT.

Hi !

Never pretended to be "fast" but this is my last test n' tune pass this season.

I'll go up against a Mustang any day of the week. If I loose... well... you just beat a pt cruiser: big deal.

But if I win ...

Oh and 3,300lbs is pretty much accurate.
3,800lbs is way off.

Looking forward to race results. Thumbs up for taking it to the track.

Roman, what kind of mods have you done to make it to the 13's? And I would say that 13.91 would qualify you as fast. Congrats!! And thanks for sharing.

Two things - first, the start of a review I read on the PT Cruiser GT

'Putting a turbocharger on Chrysler's PT Cruiser is like wearing a push-up bra. It is meant to attract new admirers, but in reality nothing has changed.'

Kinda funny.

Second: My issue is the DRIVER of that Cruiser more than the car itself - I don't care HOW fast the Cruiser is - if you talk smack, your challenge is accepted, and then say 'Give me some time - I have some things to do to my car first.' you are a doofus, plain and simple. Shut your mouth about your scary fast car unless you are ready to prove it. And NOW, not a month from now....

I agree with you...if you talk, back it up...
to me racing is just FUN because i'm not a professional nor do it for a living(i don't think anyone here is)... so if I win or lose oh well as long as I had fun.

Irwindale on Thurs, huh? What time are you planning on being there? I might just have to come by...

Oh, and I ran a 15.2 on my Cruiser when it was bone stock. That's about right for the GTs...

What does a stock 2005+ Mustang GT run in the quarter anyways?

Exactly!

MT (yes I know) has the car at 13.5 in the 1/4.

BTW, The track opens at 4 and closes at 10. Hope to see you there.

05+ Mustangs are usually mid 13s stock with an average driver. I doubt the turbo Cruiser will have a chance even with a bunch of mods...unless the Mustang driver misses a shift or something stupid. If the Mustang is an auto, its as simple as mashing the gas and waving goodbye to the Cruiser.

Interesting... Ya, I've beat older 5.0Ls. Never run against a new one. My girlfriend has never had a Mustang able to pull away from her on the freeway. Man, does that **** the off when they see it's a chick in a PT with 'Cuda stripes...

The 1/8 mile track at Irwindale could be interesting... If I have traction, I usually end up loosing in the 2nd 1/8 (on a 1/4 mile track) cuz the Cruiser has quite a bit of torque... the high HP cars (esp the rice) tend to catch me in the 2nd half...

How about...This is my first time at the track. (It really is, but I'm not going to make any excuses) Does that count? BTW, If I lose I lose. I will give props where props is due.

Thanks.
I basically opened up the exhaust and intake and turned up the boost.

Kinda funny.
Funny ? Absolutely , especially driving it.
And for some real laughs, let me line up next to, let's say, a V6 Mustang.
Sleepers own Posers BIG TIME !
(Nice smiley list by the way )

Matt

Its too bad none of you PT guys ever try to mess with my old 5.0L Mustangs. It would be fun.

My wife's the same way though with her GTP. She always comes home and tells me how bad she smoked a Mustang that thought she was easy prey. Then I remind her how bad I walked her with my stock '00 GT vert, hahaha

The most important thing is that you have fun. Nobody really cares who beats who. If you lose, just practice at the track more. You'll get better times, and he'll have to get more mods to beat you.

Good deal. We'll have a couple of foxes, Cobras and GT's. I'll be looking for ya.

FYI, I just got off the phone with the guy and he might have parent/teacher night at his kids school that night. So he said he would want to reschedule for the 16th. I am going to ask my buddies if they still want to go or not. I will probably go anyways to see what it's actually like. So, hopefully, see you guys there.
