How will the five-speed auto compare to the four-speed when we're talking performance?

Can it get up to speed faster?

LOL. I feel so dumb right now.

No questions are stupid.
Yes the 5 speed should really help especially in the 0-30 range because it's going to have quite a bit lower ratio in 1st than the present 4 speed.

I've always had a 4-speed and I've tried to go stick, but I'm better off with the auto's. It's really nice that we have a 5-speed now. I can't wait.

1st gear in 4R70W = 2.84:1

1st gear in 5R55S = 3.23:1

that tranny also has the "short" ratio second gear, gives a lot of scoot to the V8 explorers.
