05 v6 vs 03 4x4 silverado
There is a guy on my local forum who says he beat an 05 v6 (automatic obviously, since the manuals arent out yet) from only 60-95 by 4-5 car lengths in his 03 4x4 silverado z71 RC with exhaust i think. I told him the guy obviously wasnt racing, but he is taking that as me calling him a liar, and now we are in an argument about it. What do you guys think?
yea well this guy just insists on him winning by that much...60 punches are stupid anyway.
But to say 4-5 lengths in a 4800+ lb brick with 300/315 vs a 3300 lb car with 210/240 is quite rediculous..and from just 60-95 no less! That truck should be pretty close to the 05 gts huh, lol...
edit: i know this is not a good comparison, but that isnt the point, the point is the guy obviously is lying or the guy he is talking about racing...wasnt...or wasnt the whole time.

it's more like who cares? I think he's reaching looking for acceptance that he beat a stock V6 Mustang in a 4x4 Truck with a 305 V8 (or is the Z71 a 350).
That's like comparing Apples and Cumquats.

well according to ls1 tech, the 03's (5.3) 4x4s are only trapping around 85-86 in the 1/4, which is like a 99-04 v6..the few 05 v6s that i have heard about running were trapping around 90 with just a few 100 miles on them.
So IF this were true, it would mean that the 05s are trapping under 80mph for a truck (flying brick) to pull that hard in such a short distance. Heck even the pre 99s trap at at least 80.
It would take a big power/weight difference to pull 4-5 lengths from just 60-95 if they both punched at the same time...like he said they did.
I already know that it is bs from all the facts. I just wanted to post so i could show him this page so he could see what other people say that know their stuff.

Accelerating from 60-95 is completely different than 0-60.

Now if it was v6 vs gt, i can see where the 4-5 lengths in just 35 mph of leeway could come from...
he has an 11 second terminator..which is another reason he thinks he thinks he knows it all since the general consensus is that v6 mustang=slow, which is true comapred to cars like that..but not compared to a 4x4 brick. 4-5 lengths just doesnt add up. He didnt even know that the new ones had the 4.0 5 speed auto. I bet an 01+ ranger 4.0 5 speed auto would give him a good run...
