He might like to consider the '04 instead. Remember the '03 had some quality issues. If the GT is a preference, a Roush or Steeda might be the way to go since the mods are done by professionals. BTW, there are still a few "new" Cobras and Roush available @ substancial savings. You just have to do some research.
It depends...if there has been substancial work on the engine(forged internals) of the GT then it would be ok. If not hen you are just asking for trouble, like a blown engine. The Cobra is definitely the way to go. I have read about big boost put on those cars with no problems. But some people swear that a low boost on a GT is Okay. I say better safe than sorry. I actually saw an '04 Cobra with a KB sc on it for $27k in the Recycler. Go with the forged internals and IRS. My 2 cents.
Get the Cobra....10th anniversary...its way cool
My dad says that hes gotta have the Shelby Gt 500.I think that we have both agreed to go in half on the car and it can be our "project car".It looks like when we can we are going to order an 08.We had a buyer for the s-10 but he backed out.I think we are going to take it to some Friday night cruises and try to sell it again or we might just trade it in on the 08.

i say SC GT because it doesn't have the rear independent suspention but i like the 32 valve DOHC motor in the cobra more so the best bet is a 2003 SC mach1 which would have the cobra motor and the solid axle i believe....(may be wrong)
