In one recent thread it seemed like a lot of us are finding that people like the retro looks of our cars more than the new vette. Performance wise, I think we can all agree that the stock 05/06 vette beats the Mustang GT. But a lot of people in this forum have modified ther cars so maybe even performance isn't that different on some of your cars.
I'm curious, how many of you would swap your 05/06 GT for a vette of the same year. Forget about the money. Lets just say that some guy throws you his keys and says he'll trade you even his vette for your GT. Would you do it?

At this point in my life I need four seats.
My next car could very well be a Vette, but only if I can do without the two seats or if I decide to buy a daily driver/beater and then a two seater.
If not next car is a Cobra or M3.
So I guess you have your answer.

As much as I have obessed over the Mustang for my 27 years of life, I'd have to take that trade. I love the new Corvettes and I'd love to have one just as much as the Mustang. Only reason I wouldn't get one would be $$$$. So, if it were a trade of keys for keys, I'd take the Vette. Especially if it's the blue in mustangbaxter's pic ( ) or that rusty-orange color.

Its all a matter of preference, not always performance. I myself have had 3 Vettes in recent years and sold every one of them, my last was a ZR-1. I actually got tired of the things, and the people who own them.
I had Mustangs before the Vette "phase" and now I am back with Mustangs, they are much more fun to me and I just enjoy the cars much more. Sometimes a person has to experience different things in life to find out where they belong, for me it was not with Corvettes.
The answer is no, I would not swap my Mustang for a Corvette.

Thanks, its called Lemans Blue, with the cashmier interior, Nav system, 6 speed, just a 2 door chevy coupe........you should see the looks when I drive it with my mustang tattoo displayed on my left shoulder...

Money aside, no I would not want a Vette over a Mustang the Vettes look nice and all but the cars interiors bores me to tears and you don't get to see the outside of the car while driving it. Don't get me wrong they are nice but not better IMO.

Love the new vette. Awsome styling and serious speed and power, but it just feels like it lacks flava. I'm an American Muscle kinda guy. So to answer the question, I wouldnt give my stang up for an 05 vette or any other car for that matter.
I'd only give it up for a Cobra, but I don't tihnk any1 in the world would trade their Cobra for a GT.

Have you seen the C6's interior, cause it's lightyears ahead of the C5 (which I agree had a crappy interior). The C6 interior is nicer than the Mustangs IMO, not the C5's though.

You want to ruffle his feathers, tell him 60% of the guys responding so far wouldn't trade him even.

just to keep in in perspective.. this is a MUSTANG site. I bet if you asked guys in a C6 forum would they trade straight-up.. they'd mostly (ar all) say "NO!" :P
Straight up... i MIGHT take the vette.. just for the power. But when buying a car there's alot more to consider than HP. The mustang has good looks (like the vette), AMAZING power (for the money), and a MUCH nicer interior IMO.
I'm still saving up for my '07
