VOPC has been telling me since July 1, "As of July 1st, your unit is scheduled to be built week of August 22 (then 8th for a while, then 15th for a while, now back to 22).

When should I expect to hear a change to being locked in, or bucked, etc.? What might be considered typical time frames for these changes to appear?

That way I don't have to drive myself nuts calling every day.

If you have a schedule date of 8/22, it will probably be bucked a week or so before that.

Didn't there used to be a document online here that detailed all the variation order terms? "Bucked", "Serialized", etc? I know what those two mean but am curious about others.

Thanks, Ed!

Garrett, I ordered 6/11. I made sure my dealer had allocation before I ordered. I was his first '06 Mustang order too, so that helped a lot. I am not doing a plan buy, and he stands to make a decent payday on my sale, so they're motivated to show me love in front of their regional Ford rep. Don't know if that helped any, but I doubt it hurt.

Diamond Blue, I've seen that list too, including terms like "blended" and others. A search for that may turn up the list, perhaps.

Man, Garret - I do feel for you, not terrific news there. It sounds like you are working with a smaller or more rural dealer, perhaps? Ed discusses in another thread the difference between select and contact dealers. You may be waiting and waiting because of allocation for the dealer you ordered from just isn't there.

Since you are not serialized yet, see if they can change your order to add option code B16. Ed (ISELLFORD) noted in another thread this is a pretty much forgotten code that tells Ford they can slip your car in for production if they have an available slot in the assembly line, even if the dealer doesn't have allocation for it. You may get a blank stare from the dealer - Ed says a lot of folks don't know about B16 or have forgotten the code exists. Check this thread for Ed's info on it. . .

I hope this helps and you get a VIN soon!
