My situation is this: As I have posted before, I ordered an 05 Mustang GT at the end of May. The papers they drew up state I will receive it for MSRP. They took $1000 down. A few weeks ago a TMS member got me an X-Plan PIN. I gave my dealer a call and told her I had the X-Plan, to which I was told they accepted it on every vehicle model EXCEPT the Mustang GT. I don't want to waste one of his PINs. I don't want to pay $28989 (after all taxes and fees). If i figured correctly the X-plan price would have been $26.6k (again, after all taxes). Thats $2400 in savings.

My question is this: How much does Ford pay them for selling on X-plan? Maybe I could convince them to take X-plan for me if I offered to pay the differenct between X-Plan price + what ford gives them, and the msrp. This way I still pay a lot less (I think) and they still get their precious dollar.

If the dealer accepts x-plan, they are forbidden to accept any additional $$ or mark the car up any additional $$. It is the dealers decision not to take x-plan on a GT. The dealer receives approximately 4% of invoice as a commission from Ford on x-plan.

Has the car been scheduled yet? We are at the very tail end of '05 production.

Yes, it is being built July 27th.

I cannot seem to find the formulas for the different plans. I believe X-plan was A-plan +4%, and A-plan is invoice -4%?

My understanding is that "X" plan is invoice minus 1.5%

I used the X-Plan and ended up paying $26,314 for my new GT. I added most all of the extras. I talked to several dealers before I found one that accepted the GT on the X-Plan.
