A Bit Nervous!

I ordered a Mustang from my local dealer at the beginning of May knowing the current rebates expire on July 2nd. The dealer assured me it should be in before that expires. Well, I got a call this week from my dealer saying it would not be delivered to them until the week of July 2nd, just in time for the current rebate to expire. I was really relying on $1000.

Should I be worried, or is it unlikely Ford would get rid of the rebates this late in the model year.

Thanks!

I hope u put some money down. if not, go do it and tell them no rebate no deal. I got mine in Nov when the new 05s came out and got $2500 rebate. I'm waiting for the Bullit to come out and i'll order.

Angry

I did put $500 down when I ordered it. However, I didn't say anything in the order form that rebates are required. Maybe I am just screwed

Wow your story is the exact same as mine. Ordered 5/7, put $500 deposit and i told them i wanted it here before July 2. My salesman said that if by any chance i signed the papers a couple of days after it has expired they would just date it to july 2nd. You should ask your salesperson to do the same.

When I ordered my Mustang they had a good interest rate and other stuff that could have expired before my car came in so I had them put all those deals in writing on my contract no matter when the car came it.. I hope they work with you if you car doesn't come in by the due date!!! If its not in writing they are not required to do anything and many don't as we all know!!!

I know just how you feel.
Ordered mine Jan. 15th,waited through one rebate, then came another.
Went to dealer on a Friday, got kind of pushy with them, told them they had ONE week, then we were done!
Got a call on Monday, car would be shipped from holding lot on Tuesday, had car on Wednesday with a 1K rebate, but not 4.9% finance, did get 5.3% though. That was March 28th.
Best of luck !!!
Ron

The $1,000 rebate won't go away come July 3rd. The incentives will most likely (99.9% sure) stay the same. I wouldn't lose too much sleep over it. If anything, they can paper deliver it to you, if the car is on its way.

Now I am hacked. I got the dealer to say he would do a paper delivery for me this Friday in order to still get the rebate. However, I just noticed Ford changed the expiration date of the rebate to Tomorrow the 27th instead of July 2nd. I am out of town, so can't do a paper delivery before then. I hope they are doing this because they are making the incentives better, otherwise this will really **** me off.

Sorry, just ranting.

Dude, relax. There are ALOT of Mustangs out there, believe me, the rebate will be at least $1,000 for you, and it may even get better. You'll be fine.

I'm in the same boat as many of you. Car was "gate released" but still waiting for it to get here. I hope you are right, Jeff. I'm counting on that $1K too. Since the 08 prices are flat vs. 07 (taking into account the side bags are now standard) I think they'll have to leave the incentives in place or even bump them up a bit. Otherwise, unless you are in a rush, you might as well get an 08.

On Ford's website the fineprint now says the rebate expires today. I first noticed it yesterday when I made the post. I just checked and it still says today.
