Hi,

I'm interested in placing an order for the new Shelby. What is the process? Can I be sure to get one? How much will a dealer potentially mark up the sale price?

Thanks for any info. I have not ordered a limited availability car before.

Greg

I understand this may be a 2007 model, either way, I want one.

Your best chances will be at a large volume Ford Recommended SVT dealer. Go there and see what their waiting list is like. Shop around until you find a dealer where you can get high on the waiting list. Be prepared to pay 5k or more over MRSP. Be sure to get a reciept or what not if you make a deposit.

Ford has not opened the order bank as of yet. There are no order guides or pricing; just a LOT of speculation.
Most average size dealers may get 1 or 2 cars.
In my almost 25 years of selling Fords, I have not seen so much interest in a vehicle as I have of this one. I turn away potential buyers every day it seems since i already have more people who have given me deposits than I know we weill get cars direct from Ford. I have told all of the others that I will take their deposit and when the time comes, we will attempt to buy cars on the open market for those who do not get to order one and if the price is more than they want to pay, they get their deposit back. We talked generalities of how much over MSRP it would be and they still placed the deposits.
If you can find a dealer to lock you in at this earely date, go for it but make sure you are able to get your money back if for some reason either they can not provide the car or the price is more than you wish to spend.
Good Luck!
