Will the 05 Mustang race in the Tran-Am series?

Not sure about the tube-frame racecar efforts of the T/A racing series, but I've heard some whispers about Grand Am or ALSM teams.
That's the type of "GT" racing that the white 05 "Boy Racer" was built to compete in.

I think the "Powers-that-be" (and we know who you are Mr. Gentilozzi, et al) should let Trans-Am die, or be reincarnated into the SPEED GT series. Trans-Am has lost its way. Which is sad because it used to be a great series . . even with the tube-frame chassis. SPEED GT offers the variety, factory involvement, and "Stock" cars that Trans-Am used too.

I don't even know what I think about this year's T/A season, because other than a couple highlight shows on "Dangerous Curves," it wasn't even on TV this year. I was really looking forward to seeing TK return, too.
I, for one, wouldn't want to see the longest running American road racing series in history die, but something definitely needs to change. A return of the Mustang and, hypothetically, a new Camaro/Firebird would be cool. I think what it really needs, however, is another team that can regularly compete with Rocketsports.

I don't think they should let the Trans-Am Series die. 2005 will be the 40th season. The 05 Mustang hopefully will turn up in the Trans-Am Series next year.
I find it interesting that Ford painted the Cammer 5.0 Mustang like Parnelli Jones' 1970 Trans-Am racer yet Ford seems more interested in Grand-

The Trans-Am Series needs more teams like Rocketsports Racing. Hopefully, teams run the new Ford 5.0l V-8 in 05 Mustangs because new rules in the Trans-Am Series encourage fuel-injected engines.

I'm wondering if the Stang would be at an aerodynamic disadvantage against the Jags and Vettes, though. Also, Tommy Kendall, who was the only one running with fuel injection and DOHC had a lot of reliability problems, as well as suffering from a lack of low-end torque compared to the bigger pushrod engines.

I haven't read/heard anything about an '05 body for Trans-Am . . .heck it took almost two season to switch to the 99-04 body. I say it again . .Trans-Am has lost its way, and if SPEED GT, and Grand-Am cup continue to expand the Trans-Am series I feel is doomed.
