SCCA Starting Line School
Sounds pretty good and there is one coming up near me next Saturday.
Is anyone familiar with these; are they worth the time and money for an intermediate / novice? (I have done a few track days with instruction, but have never done a real "performance driving school")

thanks in advance!

From what I read in the description, it is different from the typical track day . . . It is not on a road course; they use a skid pad and slalom to teach techniques. The description in the link is all I really know. But yeah definitely not a Skip Barber.
I was thinking it might be good to build foundational skills. But wondering if I might be frustrated with just playing on a skid pad and slalom all day.
I'm thinking I will probably do it. I have never been to a pure "instructional" day before. It is $325, which includes SCCA membership and a Track Night -- and I would be doing the track night anway, which is $150; so $175 net for a day of instruction sounds like a pretty good deal.

Skid pad play is great. It does teach some good fundamental skills, or at least reinforces certain things. Not sure what the layout is, but it may be a good opportunity to learn things like drifting if they have a circle or a figure 8 laid out. I don't think you'll regret it, even if it's mostly going over what you already know. It should be great fun!

I gather it is an autocross oriented school . . . they do it on the autocross course. Always good to learn some new skills . . . but not sure I can make it due to schedule conflicts. If I do end up going, I'll report back.
