M3's 4 out of the top 7 at Barber

But who really cares as they didn't get the top spot which went to a Mustang!!!! Multimatic #15 finished 1st and the Roush #61 finished 3rd

1 15GS1Foster / MaxwellMultimatic Motorsports / Mustang Boss 302R 771:38.931170.719Ford Racing, Multimatic Motorsports

2 96GS2Auberlen / Dalla LanaTurner Motorsport / BMW M3 Coupe 771:39.2806270.710Turner Motorsport

3 61GS3Johnson / Roush Jr.Roush Performance / Mustang Boss 302R 771:38.3544570.702Roush Performance Products

Dave - Before you go spouting out how great the BMW's are why don't you go and do some research and figure out why two of the BMW's had to start at the back for the race. Then let's talk.........

There were only three 302R's in the race, and only two of them finished, both on the podium. Not bad!

Red face

I was disappointed there weren't any Mustangs in the WC race, though.
There sure was a flock of RX8's!

Edit: Getting my series'es confussed! I meant the Rolex race at Barber.

The last World Challenge race was at St Pete down in FL a few weeks ago and there were 9 Mustangs racing in GTS which is why I don't understand your comment. The race is being rebroadcast on speed so take a look. Mustangs won both racers and did quite well.

I never once sprouted on how great BMW is in my posts..if I did please show it to me. Once again I love both but happen to own a M3 at the time. You come across as angry and with a chip on your shoulder and like I said in a previous post I don't mean to get anyone riled up.

Turner gave a lot of Kudos for the Mustang..some quotes.

Today was a tough day for us," said team owner Will Turner. "It was a real roller coaster. Leading so much of the race was great, but seeing those Mustangs coming was not. We did the best we could with what we had, but that competition adjustment definitely hurt us. We will have to prepare even better for the next race at VIR."

Bill Auberlen – "That was a tough ending for us. We came in knowing that we would be down on power and luckily Don (Salama) and Will (Turner) were on top of their game. Smart strategy got us to the front, but we could not hang on. Our wings have been clipped so others could just drive around us and that's exactly what happened when Scotty (Maxwell) got next to me coming onto the front straight."

Paul Dalla Lana – "It's great to be back on the podium again, but we all had to work really hard to get here. The Mustangs were really fast and we gave them a good fight. The team did a great job with a perfect pit stop strategy."

I guess they are limiting the BMWs to a 8250rpm limit..

As far as to the win for Ford...congrats and hopefully there will be many more.

I think it is going to be a competitive year for both Ford and BMW as it has been the last few years.

Dave

Can't wait for the telecast (is that the right term for a race that happened a week ago?) on Saturday. I have to say, though, that both the 302R and the FR500Cs look...strange with the wings on the back.

Will be interesting to see how everything shakes out at VIR next month. I chat with a few guys who seem to think the AM Performance 370Z will be up front mixing it with the Mustang and BMWs but I don't quite think they're ready yet (it will be their second race, and they blew up first time out at Barber).

I'll believe it when I see it. Even factory-backed teams usually take a season to get up-to-speed with a new car.

That's exactly what I say. It's going to take time to develop the team and the car.

I visited your facility today thanks to Mr Wilson and Mr Mason. Multimatic and Ford Racing have one heck of a healthy relationship. I wish you guys all the success in the world.

The Grand-Am Continental challenge is the best racing on TV in America, hands down.

I think i've watched the race at Barber about 3 times now!
