Help & Suggestions wanted (videos included)

Hey Guys,

As some of you know I was at the track 2 weeks ago with less than stellar results. Technically I ran a PB - but I was trying to figure out the new setup, so the day was a little frustrating for me. I was hoping for 12s, but it was the first time out with the new suspension, drag tires, 4.10s, and Intake/tune. I wasn't used to how fast the 4.10s revv up, and also it was the first time I've had to shift into 4th in the 1/4. I was tweaking things all day, but could never get it all right on one pass

First pass - I spun most of first with the tires at 20psi, and launching at 6k. I hit the rev limiter HARD on 1-2 and again 2-3, so I let off before going to 4th. I knew I wasn't going to hit 12s on that pass. 13.6 - technically a PB lol (at least the time)

R/T - .764
60' - 1.939
1/8 - 8.760
MPH - 81.25
1/4 - 13.609
MPH - 95.88

Second pass - I dropped the tires down to 15psi, launched at 6k again, but had a really ****ty 60'. I think I rolled slightly through the beams and triggered the LB3A. I've never done that before so I got a little confused. I rolled a little - stopped, and then went again. My R/T was ****ed cuz of that. The one good thing is that the car trapped at over 109mph. I was at least happy with the trap speed cuz it means I should be in the 12s if I can get the launch right.

R/T - 3.598
60' - 7.153
1/8 - 10.084
MPH - 84.25
1/4 - 14.722
MPH - 109.36

Third pass - Thanks to Joe who let me know that the ET Street radials like the psi right under 20. I had them at 18psi, and it finally seemed to hook better! I launched at about 5k, and pulled a 1.9x 60'. Run was going great till I missed 4th!

R/T - .547
60' - 1.964
1/8 - 8.519
MPH - 84.16
1/4 - 13.671
MPH - 85.48

Interesting thing on this run is that my friend, Manny, who has nearly the same mods as I do, but with a lot more seat time ran next to me. He ran this:
R/T - .001
60' - 1.763
1/8 - 8.236
MPH - 83.25
1/4 - 12.887
MPH - 106.41

So it was a little frustrating working out the right setup on the car, but I still had a lot of fun. Seems that around 18psi and a 5k launch was the best combo. I just need to work on that, and not miss any gears. haha. Hopefully I'll be hitting 12s next time out! The good thing is Manny's car ran next to me - So I know that I'm faster than him by 1mph in the 1/8th, and 3mph in the 1/4. I should be a 12.6 or 12.7 for me if I can get the launch down!

Let me know what you guys think I can do to improve for this weekend at PSCA!

-Tommy

If anything your launch RPM sound way to high to me unless you have slicks but Ive never raced a new mustang so I dunno maybe it works for them

Have you ever tried a 3000 or 3500 RPM launch? That et certainly is messed up with mods and slicks!?!
